Homemade Bruschetta – Tasty Tuesday

Scroll down to content

Simple. Yummy. Summer.
The three words that describe this delicious yet easy summer snack!

There is nothing more yummy than a delicious bruschetta. I have tried many recipes and did not like any that much. I love the bitter taste of the balsamic vinegar and just love putting garlic on almost everything. So it got me thinking. Lets try to combine the two!

What you will need

  • Balsamic Vinegar
  • Balsamic Glaze (Optional)
  • Minced Garlic
  • 8 Romane Tomatoes
  • Olive Oil
  • Fresh Basil
  • Garlic Salt
  • Fresh Bread Slices
  • Salt (Optional)IMG_4650
  1. Preheat the oven to 350*.  Slice your choice of bread and arrange on an oven safe baking pan. Once the oven is preheated put the pan in the oven. I personally do not like my bread super crunchy so I left it in there for 6 minutes. If you like it more crunchy add time – but be sure to monitor so you don’t burn it.
  2. Chop the tomatoes and 8 basil leaves into small pieces and add into your mixing bowl.
  3. Add your minced garlic, garlic salt, olive oil, and balsamic vinegar to the mixing bowl and mix throughly. I added about 4tbs of minced garlic, 2tbs of garlic salt, drizzle of olive oil, and 1 cup of balsamic vinegar. Add ingredients to your desired taste. If you need a sprinkle more of regular salt go ahead and add that and mix well.
  4. Once you are done with mixing and your bread is perfectly crisped grab a spoon and start scooping the tomato mix onto the slices of bread. To add extra flair and more texture; add a zig-zag  pattern of balsamic glaze to each slice of bread.
  5. Serve & Enjoy!
